Terms of Service

The terms that govern access to and use of Compound.

Acceptance

These Terms of Service govern your access to and use of Compound. By creating an account, visiting the website, uploading a report, submitting a questionnaire, booking through Compound, or using any Compound feature, you agree to these terms.

Please read these terms carefully, in particular the clauses on No Medical Advice, Disclaimers and Liability, and Governing Law and Disputes, which concern your significant interests and which we draw to your attention with prominent formatting.

If you do not agree to these terms, do not use Compound.

What Compound Provides

Compound is a health management and health data organization tool. It helps users upload and organize health reports, view biomarker data, understand trends, receive AI-assisted explanations, and coordinate health management workflows such as appointments or concierge support.

Compound may work with clinics, laboratories, service providers, or other partners to support booking, report upload, data ingestion, and user support. Those partners may have their own terms, privacy policies, clinical obligations, and service standards.

No Medical Advice

Compound does not provide medical diagnosis, medical treatment, prescriptions, clinical decision-making, internet diagnosis or treatment, or emergency medical services, and does not hold a Medical Institution Practice License. Use of Compound does not create a doctor-patient relationship with Compound.

AI-assisted explanations, biomarker summaries, protocol suggestions, and other content are for health management reference only. You should consult a licensed physician or qualified healthcare professional before making medical decisions.

Do not use Compound for emergencies. If you may have a medical emergency, contact emergency services or go to the nearest appropriate medical facility immediately.

User Responsibilities

You are responsible for using Compound lawfully and for providing accurate, complete, and authorized information.

  • Keep your account credentials secure and notify us promptly of unauthorized access.
  • Upload only reports, files, and information you have the right to provide.
  • Do not upload another person's health information unless you have valid authorization.
  • Review source laboratory reports and consult qualified professionals before relying on health-related content.
  • Do not interfere with the service, bypass access controls, scrape protected data, upload malware, or misuse clinic upload workflows.

Uploads and User Content

You retain rights to the reports, files, and information you upload. You grant Compound the limited right to host, process, parse, display, analyze, and use that content as necessary to provide and improve the service, comply with law, protect safety, and enforce these terms. Improving the service uses only de-identified or anonymized data; if we ever need to use identifiable health data to train models, we will obtain your separate consent first.

You are responsible for the legality, accuracy, and authorization of uploaded content. Compound may remove or restrict content if we reasonably believe it violates law, these terms, privacy obligations, security rules, or the rights of others.

Third-Party, Clinic, and Lab Boundaries

Compound is not responsible for the medical services, sample collection, test performance, appointment availability, clinical judgment, original report content, or professional advice provided by clinics, laboratories, physicians, or other third parties.

Where Compound helps coordinate a booking or report handoff, our role is limited to product, data organization, and support workflows unless a separate written agreement says otherwise.

Service Availability and Changes

We may add, modify, suspend, or discontinue features at any time. We aim to keep Compound reliable, but we do not guarantee uninterrupted, error-free, or always-available service.

Some features may be experimental, AI-assisted, or dependent on third-party systems. Results may be delayed, incomplete, unavailable, or require manual review.

Intellectual Property

Compound and its software, design, content, trademarks, models, workflows, and documentation are owned by Compound or its licensors and are protected by applicable intellectual property laws.

You may use Compound only as permitted by these terms. You may not copy, modify, reverse engineer, resell, or create derivative services from Compound except as allowed by law or written permission.

Suspension and Termination

We may suspend or terminate access if you violate these terms, create security or legal risk, misuse health data, infringe others' rights, fail required verification, or if continued access would harm users, partners, or Compound.

You may stop using Compound or request account cancellation at any time, subject to legal retention, security, and technical limits described in our Privacy Policy.

Disclaimers and Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, Compound is provided on an as-is and as-available basis. We disclaim warranties that the service will meet every need, identify every health issue, produce error-free analysis, or replace professional medical care.

To the maximum extent permitted by law, Compound will not be liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential, punitive, or exemplary damages, or for decisions made without consulting qualified medical professionals.

Nothing in these terms excludes or limits liability that may not be excluded or limited under applicable law, including liability for personal injury and liability for losses caused by our intentional misconduct or gross negligence.

Minors

Compound is not intended for children under 14, who may not use it. Persons aged 14 to 18 with limited capacity for civil conduct may use Compound only with the consent or ratification of a parent or guardian, who is responsible for the minor's use.

Fees

Basic features may be provided free of charge. If paid features, memberships, or auto-renewing subscriptions are offered, the applicable fees, billing cycle, refund policy, and renewal terms will be presented separately before purchase. Any automatic renewal requires your active, separate confirmation, with a reminder before each renewal, and you may cancel automatic renewal at any time.

Force Majeure

We are not liable for delay or failure to perform caused by events beyond our reasonable control, such as natural disasters, network attacks, power or telecommunications failures, epidemics, or governmental acts. We will notify you where practicable and take reasonable steps to mitigate the impact.

Governing Law and Disputes

These terms are governed by the laws of the People's Republic of China, excluding conflict of law rules. We encourage you to first contact us at hello@compoundlife.ai to resolve disputes through good-faith negotiation.

Unless qualified counsel later specifies arbitration or another venue, disputes will be submitted to the competent court where the Compound operating entity is domiciled; if you are a consumer, this does not affect your right to bring proceedings in another competent court available to you under law.

Updates

We may update these terms from time to time. For material changes, we will provide notice through the website, app, account message, email, or another appropriate method. If you do not accept a material change, you may decline it by stopping use of Compound or cancelling your account; continued use after the effective date means you accept the updated terms.
